Gateway Technical College President Takes New Job in Minnesota

Apr. 16, 2025 9:45p

(WGTD)---The governing body of Gateway Technical College is expected to begin the process of finding a replacement for departing college President Ritu Raju Thursday morning. That's when the Board of Trustees gathers for its regular monthly meeting that'll end with a closed session to discuss personnel matters.

Raju was hired Wednesday to serve as president of a community college south of Minneapolis. Raju is expected to remain Gateway's president almost up until the time she's to begin her new job at South Central College on July 1st.

In a news release, Gateway board chairman Jason Tadlock said it's likely that the first order of business for the board will be to name an interim president followed by launching the search for a permanent successor.

It was announced several weeks ago that Raju was one of four finalists for the South Central presidency. Raju said at the time she wanted to be closer to family in Minneapolis.

Raju began her tenure at Gateway in January of 2023, succeeding Gateway President Bryan Albrecht who retired.

In his statement, board chair Tadlock praised Raju's accomplishments.

Raju, meanwhile, said it was an "honor and privilege" to serve as president of Gateway. She had previously held a position at a community college in Texas.
